Let’s be honest, no one has an unlimited money pot. So if you are like me, and love to get out of the house during the school hols, I’ve put together a useful guide featuring plenty of FREE and AFFORDABLE attractions to keep the kids busy regardless of the weather.
You can expect to see Alpacas, Donkeys, Goats, Sheep, Pigs, Horses and Ponies, Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Parakeets – and the occasional surprise! There is also a great park here too!
Our adventure play area is aimed at little ones between the ages of 3 and 10. And positioned right next door to our outside decking area it’s the perfect place to enjoy a coffee and cake whilst keeping an eye on the little ones. Our beach is back and in a brand new location. It's now undercover right next door to Jurassic Cove Adventure Golf* and the Golf Cafe. *Please note that the adventure golf is a paid for attraction
During sunny days families will love the FREE children’s playground. Let your little ones run wild.
If you venture into the deep dark wood, you may bump in to Gruffalo and his friends from Julia Donaldson's classic story. You can also get ready to join Zog on his latest forest adventure with a brand-new family activity trail and free app!
Our new play area has been customised to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience for our younger visitors, featuring in-ground trampolines, slides, climbing towers and more! Whether your child loves to climb, jump, crawl or slide they’ll find plenty to keep them entertained.
A great day out for all the family, the Runway Visitor Park is one of the North West's most popular outdoor attractions. Adjacent to the busy runways of Manchester Airport, the park’s raised viewing area means you can stand literally just a few metres away from the planes as they go past. Entry to the site is free however there are parking charges.
Amongst the park, there are plenty of attractions including: an aviary, a sandpit with a water pump, a rose and sensory garden, a miniature railway* and plenty of open space!
*entry to the railway is free but a small donation is welcomed
Central Forest Park is a beautiful green space in the heart of the city. It provides facilities for walking, cycling, dog walking, informal sports, and skateboarding. The grassland provides an important home for insects, birds, and unusual plants, while carboniferous fossils can be found in the loose shale of the pit mound. Central Forest Park is next to the City Centre, and has the Stoke Skate Plaza - Europe's largest street style skate park. There is also a safari-themed adventure play area and boulders to climb!
The National Memorial Arboretum has something for all ages, from outdoor trails and holiday activities, to leisurely strolls that can end at one of our children's play areas. Entry to the site is free however there are small parking charges.
